Number of SK Telecom’s offline mobile payment service called TPay’s members has surpassed 100,000.
TPay, which was released on the 15th of this month, is a discount and payment service that combines T membership discount and small payments from cellphones. Due to increase in number of members of TPay, numbers of daily average payments and accumulated payments have surpassed 10,000 and 300,000 respectively.
It is seen that members of TPay were able to receive benefit of about 25% discount on average due to T membership discount and promotion.
After analyzing customers that use SK Telecom’s TPay, people in their 20s and 30s (65%) use TPay the most and about 49% of payments are transactions that are under $8.58 (10,000 KRW). SK Telecom also added that it is going to increase number of stores that use TPay from 11,000 to 22,000 by first half of this year.
“Fact that we strengthened level of convenience for customers by linking TPay to membership discount benefit, introducing convenient hands-free payment method and others is a reason why TPay is so popular.” said Department Head Choo Ji-won of SK Telecom’s Product Marketing Headquarters. “We are going to continuously introduce products and services that can increase level of convenience for customers in many variety of fields in daily living in the future.”
